At Survivor Series last month, it was initially expected that Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey would face SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Unfortunately, Lynch suffered a broken nose and concussion during a segment on Monday Night Raw and was removed from the match. Instead, Charlotte Flair stepped in to face off against “The Rowdy One” at the pay-per-view.
Rousey and Flair put on a very competitive match before Flair got herself disqualified for attacking Rousey with a kendo stick. The match never got a solid ending, and both Rousey and Flair have since teased they’re not done with each other. Recently, Flair’s father and two-time WWE Hall Of Famer, Ric Flair, was a guest on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast, “The Steve Austin Show.”
During his appearance, Flair discussed Charlotte’s match with Rousey at Survivor Series, and explained why he loved it:
“I loved them both for different reasons. The one I really love is the one with Ronda because, from the start, and I used to say this about Roman [Reigns], Roman Reigns might not be able to beat Brock Lesnar, but he’s not afraid of him, which is important,” Flair said.
“I actually think from the start of the match, people could feel that [Charlotte] wasn’t afraid of Ronda.”
