Ric Flair ‘Didn’t Like’ Tiffany Stratton Using Personal Comments Towards Charlotte

The segment with Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair from Friday’s WWE SmackDown, where the two stars went off-script and took personal shots at each other, went viral.

Stratton told Charlotte she would always come second to her father, Ric Flair, and “When it’s all said and done, you’re gonna be just like you are outside of the ring — alone.” Stratton also discussed Flair’s personal life, asking, “What is that record? 0-3?” before Charlotte asked, “Is that why Kaiser’s in my DMs?”

After the segment, WWE removed the lines from their digital video recaps. Dave Meltzer previously reported problems between the two stars for the last two weeks.

Charlotte’s father, Ric Flair, appeared on Busted Open Radio and was asked for his thoughts on the segment days removed.

“I have an opinion, but I don’t really want to voice it. I can say this, it’s very sensitive. I didn’t like it, but wrestling is wrestling. I hate when they use me, but Charlotte said it right, you think that’s the first time hearing my name? I want to clarify this. She is ten times the athlete that I am. So much better of a worker than I ever was. I can’t do half the things that she does. It’s not like she’s 5’2” and 103 pounds. She’s 5’11 and weighs 145 pounds. She works so hard. Undertaker said it best, ‘The Queen came back and regained her crown.’ She deserves it. She’ll be the best worker in the business, female, until the day she decides to retire,” he said.

Flair discussed the unwritten rules of promos with his rivals like Terry Funk and Dusty Rhodes, stating that family was always off-limits. He noted that in his own experience, crossing the line in a promo “never happened.”

When asked about Charlotte’s personal life being brought up in a promo without prior discussion, Ric said he didn’t know if there was a conversation beforehand but would assume there wasn’t.
