Ric Flair Shares Text Message From Sky Hogan Addressing “Street Drugs” Controversy

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has released a private text message from Sky Daily, the widow of Hulk Hogan, in an effort to clear the air following controversial comments he made regarding Hogan’s death. Flair posted a screenshot of the message on social media with the caption: “This Text From Sky Hogan Should Clarify A Lot Of Things For People Who Have No Clue What They’re Talking About!”.

In the text, Sky appears to absolve Flair of malicious intent, attributing the controversy to the media’s tendency to “twist things up.”

“Good morning Ric. Im not sweating this media thing … I know how they love to twist things up and take one sentence out of context in an interview to make a headline,” the text reads.

Notably, Sky admits in the message that she has not actually heard the podcast where the comments were made, stating, “I’ve been off of all social media, so I haven’t heard the podcast or seen much of anything… It’s just better while I’m grieving. But I know you loved Hulk and he loved you!”.

The Controversy: “Street Drugs” Claims

The backlash stems from Flair’s recent appearance on the Doubl3 Coverage podcast in late November 2025, where he speculated on the cause of Hulk Hogan’s death. Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest.

During the podcast, Flair claimed that he had spoken to Hogan the day before he died and alleged that Hogan’s doctors had stopped prescribing him pain medication. Flair controversially stated, “I shouldn’t say this, but what killed him was street drugs,” suggesting Hogan turned to alternative methods to manage his pain.

Following Flair’s podcast comments, Sky Daily issued a statement to TMZ Sports vehemently denying Flair’s version of events. She stated that the “street drugs” claim was completely false. She clarified that Hogan was under strict medical supervision at Morton Plant Hospital in Florida leading up to his passing.

After Sky’s correction, Flair said on X, “I Got Bad Information According To You. I Should Have Never Mentioned It,” and urged fans to focus on preserving Hogan’s legacy.
