Ric Flair’s heart surgery was a success, according to what was relayed to TMZ by Flair’s wife Wendy Barlow. “Doctors said the procedure was a success,” Barlow said. She also said that doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery.
As previously noted, TMZ broke the news on Thursday that Flair was rushed to the hospital. Conrad Thompson said during a media call for Starrcast II that Flair was still intending on flying out to Las Vegas for his roast event. Thompson also said that the situation was not as dire as first reported. It was later revealed that Flair’s hospitalization was separate from the planned surgery he would undergo on Monday afternoon.
The TMZ story on Thursday noted that Flair’s situation was “very serious.” It’s no secret that Flair has dealt with heart issues for years and he noted in his book that those issues stem from his hard partying from decades on the road since the 1970s.
Due to his health issues and because he is just out of surgery, Flair has pulled out of Starrcast II. We are glad to hear the surgery was a success and we wish him a speedy recovery.
