Rich Swann Suspended By TNA, Entering Rehab For Second Disorderly Intoxication Arrest Since 2022

In a story that first broke via Brandon Thurston at Post Wrestling, a long-time TNA star has been suspended by the promotion.

The report states that Rich Swann was arrested on June 8 in Altamonte Springs, Florida and police charged him with public intoxication and causing a disturbance. TNA told Post Wrestling that Swann will be entering a substance abuse program and they first learned about the arrest after Post reached out to them about it on Monday.

“TNA Wrestling takes any and all charges against its performers seriously,” the statement said. “Rich Swann is responsible for his own personal actions.”

“He has informed TNA Wrestling that he is voluntarily entering into a substance abuse rehabilitation program. TNA Wrestling has suspended Rich pending the completion of its investigation into the incidents.”

Per the police report, a resident called the police after getting into the shower and hearing a “loud banging coming from the front door.” The individual stated that he yelled that he “had a gun” and for “whoever was banging on my door to leave.”

Per the statement to the police, Swann was heard saying “This is my house.” The person said they opened the door and showed Swann the gun to get him to back away and leave the property. After Swann left, the resident made the call to the police. The door Swann was said to have been banging on was not far from his own address so there is a possibility that he simply walked to the wrong door.

Police say they received another call from a woman in the same neighborhood that she “heard a male trying to talk to me” and that she asked Swann to stop when he started to follow her. Per the police report, Swann said to her, “What do you mean stop following you?”

The woman said she began to run as Swann followed her up to her door and she managed to get inside. When officers arrived, they found him in the area and took him into custody and he allegedly tried to kick the door to the first apartment.

Swann was described by police as being incoherent and intoxicated, with slurred speech, glassy eyes, and his breath smelled like alcohol. The report stated that Swann admitted to having “a lot” of alcohol and he started drinking 3 hours earlier.

There was a previously unreported incident in 2022. Per Post Wrestling, Swann “was arrested for allegedly causing a disturbance while intoxicated at the apartment complex where he lives. The court ordered him to pay $351.49 related to that charge.”

In 2017, Swann was charged with false imprisonment, a felony, as well as simple domestic battery. The incident involved his wife Su Yung, who said that Swann tried to pursue her when she left the car they were in. Swann allegedly pulled her back into the car after putting her in a headlock. The charges were eventually dropped due to insufficient evidence but the incident led to his firing by WWE.
