It appears Ricky Starks and other AEW talent will have options when their deals come due.
Starks has been away from AEW television for a few months, as he was last seen in action on the March 30 episode of AEW Collision. He had an injury scare that led to Top Flight going over in the bout originally planned for Starks and Big Bill to win. Starks stated that he was not injured in the past and had no answers regarding why AEW has not used him.
In past interviews, AEW President Tony Khan has noted he would love to have Starks back. Fightful most recently reported that breaking up with Big Bill and feuding with him was the only pitch Starks turned down in the last several months. Starks didn’t think Big Bill losing a feud with him would benefit Bill. Instead, he wanted them to have an amicable split, if anything.
PWInsider.com reports that sources in WWE have stated there is “certainly interest” in a number of AEW stars whose deals are close to expiring or have been off TV for some time, including Starks and Daniel Garcia.
It’s still unclear when Starks’ AEW deal is up and whether there have been feelers sent between the two sides. Many fans think Starks may go to WWE, as he has friends in the promotion, such as CM Punk and Cody Rhodes.
