Has Ricochet finally returned to his true form after a stint in WWE that he claims damaged his wrestling legacy? The high-flying superstar has had an incredible career spanning the independent scene, NJPW, Lucha Underground, and now AEW. Despite holding gold in every organization he has worked for, Ricochet does not look back fondly on his time with the sports entertainment giant.
Ricochet recently responded to a post on social media that showed a clip of him wrestling AJ Styles in WWE. He was quick to distance himself from that era of his career, stating that the performer in the clip was unrecognizable compared to who he is today.
“That’s not me. That was a watered down, different universe version of me. Two completely different people.”
Since joining All Elite Wrestling in the summer of 2024, Ricochet has quickly re-established himself as a top-tier talent. He made his debut at All In as an entrant in the Casino Gauntlet match and immediately moved into title contention.
His run has also seen him return to NJPW, where he headlined Wrestle Dynasty in the Tokyo Dome, challenging for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He has also achieved championship gold in AEW, becoming the inaugural AEW National Champion. He won the belt at Full Gear last year and defended it across ROH, the independent scene, AEW, and CMLL.
