Luke Menzies, formerly known as Ridge Holland in WWE, announced on Busted Open that WWE is paying for his upcoming neck fusion surgery. This procedure will keep him out of action until at least May 2026.
This clarification on his medical situation comes amid a confusing period following his WWE release. Last week, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to help Menzies and his family with medical and financial issues. The fundraiser was reportedly initiated after he sustained a Lisfranc foot injury in September while appearing at a TNA event on behalf of WWE. The GoFundMe page stated that Menzies was at “risk of losing their home” and noted he was ineligible for workers’ compensation following his release.
On November 9, Menzies issued a public statement clarifying that a family member had created the GoFundMe without his knowledge. He announced that he had requested the fundraiser be stopped and that all money raised would be donated to charity.
Menzies’ release was finalized just a week before his contract was set to expire, following public posts where he expressed frustration with his financial situation and feeling “hung out to dry” by WWE after his injury.
While the GoFundMe was related to his Lisfranc foot injury, previous reports had indicated Menzies was also “potentially looking at a neck fusion surgery in the future.” His appearance on Busted Open confirms that the neck surgery is happening and that WWE will be covering the cost, despite the public nature of his contract dispute and release.
Luke Menzies (Ridge Holland) says on Busted Open just now WWE is paying for his upcoming neck fusion surgery – that will have him out of action until at least May.
