Rikishi has shared his honest thoughts on the booking of the Wyatt Sicks faction in WWE. Following the group’s recent loss to The Bloodline (The MFTs), the WWE Hall of Famer questioned whether the creative team has done enough to support Bo Dallas and his stablemates.
Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi expressed his respect for the Rotunda family and the difficulty of carrying on Bray Wyatt’s legacy. He acknowledged the immense pressure Dallas faces in stepping into a world created by his late brother.
“I’m going to try to put my personal feelings away, because I have love and respect to the Rotunda family,” Rikishi said. “But I just felt from the start that after the brother, we all gathered together to really kind of hold on to that memory of Bray. And when we seen the Brother Bo come in, to be able to carry on that same character and so forth. It was so kind of personal to a lot of the wrestling fans. You can imagine the pressure for the brother, right? That knowing that him stepping into a character that his brother created. And you know you either got to be as good as your brother or better.”
Creative Support
Rikishi suggested that while the talent involved is skilled, they rely heavily on the production and writing teams to make the supernatural gimmicks work. He speculated that the company may have lost faith in the project or simply failed to provide the necessary pieces to make it succeed long-term.
“Bo is a good, good wrestler,” he said. “But the thing is, for us as talent, we can only do so much in there, like we need all the pieces of the puzzle to be able to fit. The writing team, the effects team. So at the end of the day, I feel that maybe the team has dropped the ball on him, I don’t know. Maybe it was personal, or they just gave up on Bo’s team. I think now it’s where do you go, and not unless they’re coming back for a special match for WrestleMania. I think they can still be a good, solid team for like Halloween and that time. Because I’m a big fan of the characters, and every single person on there can work. So I don’t feel like it’s, they’re working, that’s holding them back from anything.”
