Rikishi Questions WWE Booking Of Solo Sikoa Vs. Gunther: “Was There Nobody Else?”

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi discussed the recent trajectory of his son, Solo Sikoa, during the latest episode of his podcast, Rikishi Fatu Off The Top. Following Sikoa’s recent work on SmackDown, Rikishi expressed that his son has settled into his role.

“I think he’s in that comfort zone now,” Rikishi said. “I think Solo found himself. It’s nice to be able to let Solo be Solo”.

Rikishi also praised the recent match between Sikoa and Gunther, highlighting the difficulty of two villains working against one another.

“The match between Gunther and Solo not having a program, I thought it was an A-plus match,” Rikishi stated. “It’s very difficult for two heels to go out there… For me to be able to see my son go out there and test his skills against another heel, it made me proud that they figured it out”.

However, Rikishi questioned the booking decision to have Sikoa lose to Gunther during the tournament to face John Cena.

“If you gonna ask me, I’m gonna tell you. Number one, why? Number two, was there not anybody else?” Rikishi asked. “Because now you bring a guy who’s got momentum… and then when you book him on certain matches… you just throw him in there just for the sake of putting somebody else to go to the next level”.

Looking ahead, Rikishi spoke about the potential for Sikoa to eventually turn babyface.

“Can you imagine when Solo starts to switch babyface?” Rikishi said. “Oh my goodness. He’ll be doing every personal appearance as a babyface for the company for the next decade”.
