WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi does not consider multi-time champion Charlotte Flair to be one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time. During a discussion on his “Rikishi Fatu Off The Top” podcast, he stated that while Charlotte is a top talent, several women from past eras were better workers who were never pushed to the same superstar level.
The topic arose while Rikishi was fantasy booking a potential match between his daughter-in-law, the new “Miss Money in the Bank” Naomi, and Charlotte Flair. His co-host then asked him directly if he would rate Charlotte as one of the all-time greats.
“No, I wouldn’t. Okay. No, I wouldn’t,” Rikishi answered bluntly. “There’s so many other wrestlers before her, before her time. You know, had they been young to be able to go… they can keep up with her. It wasn’t built like her, as far as pushing her as far as in superstar status. But there was these… there’s a few of them.”
He then proceeded to name several women from his era who he feels were superior in-ring performers. “There’s Miss Jackie, Miss Texas. Yeah, Miss Texas. Can you imagine Miss Texas [Jacqueline Moore] was young and in this era right now? The way that she worked,” he said. “Ivory back in the day, right? She again, you know, these names that I’m throwing out there were kind of, like, never really pushed, pushed, but they were so good of workers that they were able to make other superstars.”
He also added another name to his list of underrated legends. “Yeah, I would love to see Jazz, you know, missing Jazz that was in my head… Jazz will be another good contender to kind of rock with some of these new… chicks that’s out,” he stated.
