RK-Bro tournament delayed because of an issue with Montez Ford

WWE has not said much about why the RK-Bro tournament was delayed but Dave Meltzer gave a brief update on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Last night on Raw, the plan was for the finals between The Street Profits against Rey and Dominik Mysterio to take place but the match was delayed until the 12/27 show. WWE claimed on social media that the delay was because both teams were injured. Meltzer said there was an issue with Montez Ford.

"Something's up with Ford," Meltzer said. "I don't know what it is. They said that both teams were injured...For whatever it is, there's something with Ford and I don't know if there's something with Rey or Dominik. For sure there's something with Ford so they couldn't do the match. I don't know if it's injury, illness, whatever. I'll probably know tomorrow but legit, they couldn't do that match."

Meltzer said that WWE knew about this on Saturday and possibly before then but they continued to advertise the match until a few hours before last night's show.

As noted on Monday, Rey and Dominik did not wrestle at the house shows over the weekend and Angelo Dawkins wrestled singles matches against AJ Styles.
