Rob Gronkowski has issued a direct challenge to Logan Paul, stating he is prepared for a fight during an upcoming flag football game. The former NFL star’s comments follow Paul’s withdrawal from a proposed $2 million boxing match against Le’Veon Bell, a move Paul claimed came down to a directive from WWE leadership. Gronkowski dismissed this explanation, suggesting that Paul used the company as an excuse to avoid the bout.
During a livestream on March 8, Paul received a call from a WWE representative who stated the company could not allow him to risk injury ahead of WrestleMania 42. Paul is currently aligned with Paul Heyman’s “The Vision” faction and is expected to have a marquee role in Las Vegas this April.
“I saw Logan just ducked Le’Veon Bell out. They were supposed to fight. They were supposed to put $1 million each in escrow. And Logan Paul had the WWE owner call him and say, ‘Oh, you can’t do it, Logan Paul. What if you get hurt?’ I just feel like he backed out and that was just his excuse. He should have just came out and said, ‘Actually, I don’t wanna do it.’ But instead, he had backup. And then he puts the call online as well, like, ‘Hey, look, I can’t do it because WWE said I can’t do it.’ That’s the biggest crap of all time. I mean, you don’t just call people out and then it happens, and then you back out like that just shows that he’s a flake. And on top of it, I saw that he was actually commenting as well that he could whoop my ass.”
Showdown At The Fanatics Flag Football Classic
The tension between the two athletes is set to end on March 2 at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Los Angeles. The event, which features current and former NFL stars including Tom Brady and Joe Burrow, will be held at BMO Stadium. Gronkowski, who noted he is not on Paul’s team, noted he is willing to turn the “family event” into a sanctioned brawl if Paul continues to “talk garbage.”
“Well, I didn’t stop in that ring that time when he fought my brothers, you know, because I was actually in the middle of playing, you know, in the NFL. And I didn’t say I was going to do it, you know, and like, or anything. Like, if I’m going to say I’m going to do it, then I’m going to do it. If Logan Paul wants a piece of me, we’re both playing in the flag football game on March 21st. I’m down to throw it down on the field and even throw my fist and just go at it, all out brawl on the flag football field. I don’t care it’s flag football, it’s a family event. I will fight him on the field if he wants to fight me right there and then in the flag football game. If he wants to talk garbage, if he wants some of this, I’ll see him on the field. Because I can tell you this, I know he’s not on my team either. So if he wants to throw hands, hey, I’m down for it, let’s go.”
