In a very interesting move for both parties, it was reported on WWE Backstage that the company is close to signing Rob Gronkowski. Ryan Satin said Gronk could appear on the March 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
There are no other details available but this is not a total surprise because Gronk has hinted that he would be interested in working with WWE on a limited basis.
He also appeared on WrestleMania 33 to help out his friend Mojo Rawley in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and last month during Super Bowl weekend, he was pictured alongside Rawley with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
Gronkowski announced his retirement from the NFL in 2019. He said at the time that his body could still go but the sport was bringing him down and he realized the damage that can be done to his body if he continued playing.
