Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has publicly addressed the possibility of participating in a future WrestleMania event hosted in Saudi Arabia. Following reports regarding the location of the event, Johnson provided an update on the status of discussions regarding his involvement.
During a recent appearance on the Raffi Talks podcast, Johnson was asked about the prospect of appearing at a WrestleMania held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Johnson expressed support for the venue choice and the opportunities it presents for the roster.
“I’m excited for the brand of WrestleMania, I’m excited for the Kingdom because that is a big show,” Johnson stated. “I’m also excited not only for the brand, but I’m excited for our athletes to be able to participate in an event like that, and that is a global event. And so I can’t wait.”
Regarding his specific involvement in the show, Johnson indicated that talks are ongoing and positive. “In terms of the conversations I’ve been having, it’s all good. It will always be good,” he said.
Reported Financial Offer
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Johnson is a primary target for organizers in Saudi Arabia. Meltzer reported that sources within the country have indicated a desire to have Johnson on the show.
Meltzer further noted that to secure his involvement, Johnson would receive “the largest offer ever made for someone to do a pro wrestling show.”
Johnson, who was appointed to the Board of Directors for TKO Group Holdings in January 2024, most recently competed at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia. At that event, he teamed with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
WWE entered into a long-term partnership with the Saudi General Entertainment Authority in 2018. The agreement includes hosting regular premium live events in the region. While the company has held major events such as Crown Jewel and Super ShowDown in the Kingdom, hosting WrestleMania would mark the first time the company’s flagship event has taken place outside of North America.
