Rocky Romero turns down WWE, signs 2-year deal with NJPW

Rocky Romero is one of the names that was rumored to be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling after news broke that members of the Bullet Club and Shinsuke Nakamura had given notice at Wrestle Kingdom 10. There were discussions about Romero working in NXT in a player/coach role. Dave Meltzer reports that Romero has told several people that he has signed a 2-year deal with New Japan so that takes him off the list of potential names jumping to WWE.

Romero is part of the Roppongi Vice Team with former WWE star Trent Baretta and he works for NJPW and ROH. He’s been with NJPW since 2007.
