WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his advocate Paul Heyman kicked off this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Heyman began by saying that he was brought back in just when people thought he was “out.” He added that it was not him (Heyman) corrupting Roman but it was Roman corrupting him. In other words, it was Reigns’ idea to have Heyman as his advocate and not the other way around.
Heyman said that WWE executives turned their back on Roman when he needed just a little bit of time off and they never gave him a real thank you even when he was dealing with his illness (cancer recovery). Heyman then declared that he is serving as the Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
Reigns then spoke and said that he did exactly what he said he would do and he left Payback as the Universal Champion and he doesn’t care who he faces at Clash of Champions.
Later tonight, it will be Matt Riddle vs. Big E vs. King Corbin vs. Sheamus in a Fatal 4-Way to determine who will challenge Reigns for the title at Clash of Champions.
