Roman Reigns Expected to Defend Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Two Upcoming PLEs

Although Roman Reigns will be in action at Saturday’s WWE Night of Champions PLE, he won’t be defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the show.

Instead, he will team with Solo Sikoa against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. He is also advertised for SmackDown on June 30, Money in the Bank on July 1, a house show on July 22 in Mexico City, and SummerSlam in August.

“The Tribal Chief” is closing in on 1000 days since he became Universal Champion, eventually winning the WWE Title at WrestleMania 38 last year when he defeated Brock Lesnar, making him the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

After WWE booked Reigns in a tag team match at Night of Champions, some fans speculated that WWE might book him in some non-title matches at PLEs to further extend his reign as champion.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Reigns is slated to defend the title at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam.

Meltzer speculated that The Usos and Bobby Lashley could be top candidates to be his opponents at these shows.
