Roman Reigns gives high praise to Cody Rhodes ahead of WWE in-ring return

Roman Reigns has spoken highly of Cody Rhodes, who is slated to make his in-ring return at tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble by competing in the 30-Man Royal Rumble match.

Rhodes has been sidelined since last June when he suffered a torn pec heading into a Hell in a Cell bout with Seth Rollins, a performance praised by fans and wrestlers alike.

While appearing on Friday’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the Royal Rumble, where he will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Kevin Owens, “The Tribal Chief” was asked about what else is going on in WWE.

“We have another guy, Cody Rhodes, who’s coming back from injury. He was super white-hot. If you go back to, I believe it was a Hell a Cell match he had with Seth Rollins, his pectoral muscle was completely torn in half. If you go back and look, it’s completely black, a giant bruise covering this guy, a fourth of his body is completely broken, and he goes out there and puts on a 40-minute performance, and just completely wins over our entire fanbase. So a lot of guts. A lot of courage out of him. He’s going to be coming back soon too.”

Reigns also addressed the reports that The Rock feels he won’t be in ring shape by the time WrestleMania 39 happens for a match with the top WWE star. Check out the interview here.
