Roman Reigns Moved a Lot of Tickets After WWE Accidentally Advertised Him for Live Event

Roman Reigns proved yet again this week that he is a big draw for WWE after he was accidentally advertised for a house show.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion would be in action on Saturday in Fayetteville, NC, for a house show where the arena promoted that it would be Reigns’ first time wrestling in the city in more than four years. WWE even took out radio advertising for a few days in the market, building the show around Reigns.

However, on Wednesday, WWE issued a statement noting that Reigns won’t be appearing and that ticket holders would be refunded if fans want them until 7:30 p.m. the day of the show. WWE cited that the promotional team got an old set of Reigns dates before they were changed.

After Reigns signed a new big-money deal with WWE last year, it was reported his deal called for him to work fewer dates, with it mostly being only television and PLE events. He rarely works house shows these days.

As previously reported, Reigns will be working even fewer dates as he prepares to move to Hollywood.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that before Reigns was advertised, WWE sold 3,816 tickets. At the time that they announced Reigns was off the show, they had sold 4,521 tickets, a significant movement in just a matter of days for a house show.

Reigns is advertised for Night of Champions on May 27, where he will team with Solo Sikoa against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles, SmackDown on June 30, Money in the Bank on July 1, and SummerSlam in August.
