Roman Reigns on Simone Johnson signing with WWE, why 2020 will be his year

Roman Reigns talked about a wide range of topics while speaking with Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com

First up was the news that Simone Johnson, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, signed with WWE. Obviously, Reigns is no stranger to the Johnson family and WWE has had a long history with the Samoan dynasty.

‘We’re so proud. Obviously we want her to finish her education and do well in college, but it’s just so great that she has a direction. At such a young age, she has a passion, a direction, and I imagine she’s got a level of intensity to succeed like her father. So I think she’s gonna be just fine. She’s obviously got huge shoes to fill, as we all do in our family tree, but she’s got plenty of help, plenty of resources. It’s just about putting in the hard work, and just finding herself, and she’ll be good.”

WWE holds the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Reigns is advertised to compete in the match and while other stars are advertised for the contest as well, the card is subject to change.

According to Reigns when asked about the match, he thinks this year is his.

“The time is now … I’ve never been in better shape in my life. I’ve never been more prepared. I’ve legitimately been groomed since I was just a little boy for this moment. There’s nobody in the world that can handle this like I can. I’ve been through the fire and back. Like I said, man. This is my time. 2020 is mine. Hopefully we can knock it out of the park and take it all the way back here to SoFi [at WrestleMania 37].”
