Roman Reigns took time out of his busy WWE schedule to reflect on one of the most impactful and successful groups that WWE has ever created, The Shield.
The Shield, which consisted of Dean Ambrose, Reigns, and Seth Rollins, made their debut on November 18, 2012 at the Survivor Series pay-per-view at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis when they helped CM Punk retain the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match over John Cena and Ryback.
They would go onto win several championships together as a group.
The end of the group came when Rollins turning heel by attacking and Reigns that later led to him becoming the top champion in the WWE.
Reigns did so in a post on his official Twitter account where he wrote the following:
“7 years ago. 3 hungry dudes ready to take over the world debuted in @WWE. Multiple world championships. Main events around the world. Money made. Families grown. Taking our own paths but will always be brothers. #TheShield.”
2019 marked the end of the group for now as Rollins was positioned as the top star on Raw while Reigns went to SmackDown. Ambrose, now known as Jon Moxley, departed from WWE and signed with AEW where he is a top star for the promotion.
