WWE Superstar Roman Reigns is set to appear in a supporting role in the upcoming action-comedy film “The Pickup,” starring Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer. The movie will premiere exclusively on Prime Video for streaming on August 6, 2025. Scroll down to see the official poster.
“The Pickup” follows two mismatched armored truck drivers, Russell (Eddie Murphy) and Travis (Pete Davidson), whose routine cash pickup takes an unexpected and dangerous turn. They are ambushed by a team of ruthless criminals led by a savvy mastermind, Zoe (Keke Palmer), who has plans extending far beyond the monetary cargo. As the situation spirals into chaos, the unlikely pair must navigate high-stakes danger, their clashing personalities, and a day that progressively worsens. Roman Reigns filmed his supporting role for the movie last year, spending a day on set.
This role places Reigns alongside comedy legends like Eddie Murphy and contemporary stars Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer, further expanding his presence beyond the wrestling world. Reigns has previously appeared in major films such as “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” (alongside his cousin Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and the Netflix comedy “The Wrong Missy.” He has also recently been reported to be in talks for a role in Legendary’s upcoming live-action “Street Fighter” movie.
The film is anticipated to be a major release for Prime Video, given the star power of Eddie Murphy, who is renowned for his iconic roles in action comedies like “Beverly Hills Cop” and “48 Hrs.” The addition of Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer alongside Reigns rounds out a compelling cast for what promises to be an entertaining summer movie.
Reigns is working a very limited schedule these days and it’s expected that we will see him featured in more movies now that he has more time for outside projects.
