The talk within WWE is that Roman Reigns is going to be headlining WrestleMania 31 next year against Brock Lesnar. Reigns would win the title from Brock and that would be the coronation of the new top babyface for WWE. There is no definite confirmation on Lesnar beating John Cena for the WWE title at SummerSlam but the talk is that Lesnar will take the title from Cena. It could happen at SummerSlam or it could happen at Night of Champions in September. The reason why it could happen in September is because that show will be built up as a major show because the bulk of the WWE Network subscriptions expire in September. The pay per views are the main drivers of subscriptions. 74 percent of the subscribers are due to expire in September so they need the big hook to get people to renew.
Other than Lesnar being booked for Night of Champions, nothing is known about his schedule after that show. Logically one would assume that he will work at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania but the question is would the company put the title on a guy that won’t be working at house shows? They did set a precedent with The Rock when he won the title and didn’t work house shows but that was for a shorter stretch of time (January through April). They could renegotiate more dates with Brock if he is open to it.
There is also the question of what WWE will do with Seth Rollins’ Money In The Bank case.
