Ronda Rousey took to Instagram to “break kayfabe” but she did it in a way that put over her opponents on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
Rousey posted a clip from the World Tag Team Unification match from SmackDown. Rousey and Shayna Baszler unified the World Tag Titles with the NXT Tag Titles by defeating Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. The match was given a lot of praise by fans on social media and Rousey seems to agree that Fyre and Dawn are great wrestlers.
Rousey wrote in Instagram:
Yaddah yaddah “don’t break kayfabe” but let’s be honest for a sec, these chicks @wwe_alba and @isla_dawn can f’n go #TagTeamChampions
If you have not noticed yet, there has been an attempt to restore some prestige to the Women’s Tag Team division and they are getting more matches on TV and more time to work. After the match, Rousey and Baszler’s next contenders were set up in Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan but it’s clear that Fyre and Dawn will stay in the mix with an eventual rematch at some point.
