Ronda Rousey Calls WWE’s Women’s Tag Division ‘Dismally Shallow,’ Wants the Company to Care and Invest

Due to an injury that Liv Morgan suffered that will keep her on the sidelines for a while, the Women’s Tag Team Titles were vacated with WWE booking Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley & IYO SKY vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville in a fatal 4-way match on Monday’s Raw.

Rousey and Baszler went over in the bout, something originally planned to happen at WrestleMania 39, only to be delayed due to Rousey dealing with an injury.

While speaking with the New York Post. Rousey gave some interesting comments about WWE’s women’s tag division. She thinks the company needs to care and invest in the division, something that fans have criticized since the titles were introduced.

“Well, the lack of competition is really the problem. I mean, we want to be the most active champions out there. I want to be able to defend this title every week and even twice a week on both SmackDown and Raw. But with how dismally shallow the women’s division is right now, there’s not enough women around here to keep us busy for a month. And so that’s the biggest challenge that we have is to get this company to actually care and invest into this tag division.”

Rousey feels the women’s tag division was ‘stripped clean’ while she was away with her first child. She feels it’s up to her and Baszler to make ‘chicken sh*t into chicken salad.’
