Ronda Rousey injury confirmed, early news on WWE plans for her next match

Ronda Rousey was seen wearing a cast on her right hand on Wednesday, which confirms Dave Meltzer’s report that she suffered a “severely broken” hand during the WrestleMania 35 main event. Meltzer added that Rousey had surgery on her right little finger on Sunday 4/14.

Rousey is currently on an “impregnation vacation” and hopes to start a family soon so she was already set to take time from WWE.

It’s unclear how long it will take for her hand to heal but, if all goes well with the hand and the family planning, WWE is hoping to have her back by WrestleMania 36. The idea right now is to finally do the Rousey vs. Becky Lynch singles match that has been hyped since November.

Her return is not guaranteed but the company is hopeful that they can get her back to do occasional appearances like John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Of course, the timing of her pregnancy will determine when she would return because she would still need to train to get back into shape after her pregnancy. That alone means a WrestleMania 36 match is not a certainty. She is under contract until 2021 but it’s her decision whether or not she wants to return.

In a video posted on her YouTube channel (skip to 13:05), Rousey gets very emotional when she realizes how bad her hand injury is.
