Ronda Rousey issues an apology

It looks like Ronda Rousey will be taking some time off before the hype begins for SummerSlam.

On this week’s Monday Night Raw, Rousey attacked Alexa Bliss for ruining her title opportunity against Nia Jax at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. However, Rousey crossed a line when she attacked Raw General Manager Kurt Angle. Unfortunately for Rousey, Angle felt that the appropriate action to take was to suspend her for 30 days.

Rousey took to Instagram to apologize for her actions: “@therealkurtangle I sincerely apologize for my behavior tonight…. Though you were the first to put hands on me, I shouldn’t have let my temper get the best of me….Despite the fact I was cheated, provoked, and disrespected by Alexa… i shouldn’t have been willing to go through you to get to her.  I’ll gladly serve my suspension … but Alexa, know that every moment you don’t see me i am thinking of you and preparing for your comeuppance. So you in 30 days #LittleMissBish”

Rousey will be eligible to return a few days after next month’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view. For whatever it’s worth, Rousey is still advertised for live events so this is apparently just a TV suspension. She is scheduled to wrestle on 6/25 (San Diego), 7/6 (Philadelphia), 7/7 (MSG in NYC), 7/8 (Bridgeport), and 7/9 (Boston).

The belief is that Rousey will challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship (likely against Bliss) at SummerSlam.
