Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has had a great run with WWE this year. “The Rowdy One” signed with the professional wrestling juggernaut this past January, and has participated in several high-profile matches. Rousey’s first-ever WWE match went down at WrestleMania 34, in which she teamed up with WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle.
The duo defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team match. Several months later, Rousey would defeat Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam to win the Raw Women’s Championship. She then main evented the first-ever all-female pay-per-view, Evolution, opposite Nikki Bella in New York last month.
Rousey has exceeded expectations with her WWE run, but still hasn’t faced her dream opponent inside the squared circle. Speaking to the “PWI Podcast” with Al Castle and Dan Murphy recently, Rousey revealed she still wants to work with former Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks:
“I would really love to wrestle Sasha Banks. I think I’ve just been so impressed watching her work, and see her in the back, and see her work. And I was already a fan of her’s before. I think that we would be able to make something great together and I think she has given a lot of women their best matches ever.
“But I almost feel like I’m not at the right level yet for her. I really think that we could make something really special and really great, but I don’t know that I’m at the level that’s ready for that yet and I don’t know if the company would ever like that, but in a perfect world, I would definitely love that for sure.”
