Ronda Rousey-UFC 300 rumor killer

There has been speculation that Ronda Rousey may consider a UFC return next year, with UFC 300 that is expected to be a loaded card. This speculation has been going on for months, with UFC President Dana White shooting down the rumors in the past two interviews. However, fans are convinced that Rousey will return for one more fight following a recent tease by White.

Rousey’s UFC history

Rousey hasn’t fought since suffering back-to-back losses. She was dethroned by Holly Holm of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title at UFC 193 in November 2015 as Holm knocked her out with a head kick. In her next fight, he suffered a 48-second TKO loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December 2016.

Rousey’s last WWE match was a loss to Shayna Baszler this past Summer at SummerSlam. Rousey is working selective independent wrestling dates but recently noted in an interview with TMZ that she’s focused on her family for now.

The tease

While speaking with Sports Illustrated a week ago, White noted there is a super fight targeted for UFC 300 that just popped up recently, and he can’t talk about it, although he ruled out that it involves Conor McGregor. This led to speculation and rumors on social media that the UFC offered Rousey big money for a trilogy bout against Miesha Tate, who has lost to Rousey twice in their heated rivalry.

Dave Meltzer in the F4Wonline Daily Update that regarding White’s tease, Rousey’s people has said she’s not interested in fighting again.

Meltzer wrote, “This has led to talk of Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate going around, although everything we’ve heard from the Rousey side is that she is not interested in fighting again and was looking to have another child.”
