Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax could lead to interesting booking decision

Ronda Rousey is set to take on Nia Jax at Money In The Bank where the Raw Women’s Title will be on the line. But one of the biggest problems with this booking decision is that might prove to be Ronda Rousey’s first actual singles match which is an interesting time to have a title match.

But as WWE prepares to work Ronda Rousey into the picture it seems they have a plan in mind. They just needed to switch up some plans for the European tour as Rousey’s singles match against Mickie James became trios tag matches.

“Dave has mentioned the reason she is doing six-woman tag matches and not singles matches,” Bryan Alvarez commented during Wrestling Observer Live. “She was originally supposed to do singles matches with Mickie James. The reason she is doing six-person matches is she has been deemed ‘not ready’ for a singles match with Mickie James at a house show.”

“Now in three weeks she must face Nia Jax in a singles match on pay-per-view, what are they thinking? Like what were they thinking when they put this match together unless it’s going to be like a twenty-second armbar submission.”

If Rousey just jumped Nia Jax as soon as the bell sounded to catch her in an armbar and win the match that could be a way out of this situation. There is also the possibility of some kind of screw-job finish or immediate run-in to change the usual dynamic of a singles match. But Ronda Rousey will still need to prove herself in a singles match eventually.

But at least for the European tour, it didn’t seem like WWE put too much faith in Ronda Rousey’s abilities to work a match without the safety net of someone covering for her in the ring.

Rousey had an amazing appearance at WrestleMania but that match took months to plan. Alvarez later noted that while Rousey might be able to even succeed with a small handful of moves in her repertoire she still needs some ring awareness and other things to help really paint the picture in the ring.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey start meeting up soon so they can start putting together their match if they haven’t already started at this point.
