Ronda Rousey’s longtime UFC rival willing to lose to her in WWE

Ronda Rousey has seen an amazing amount of success since transitioning into a professional wrestling career with WWE. “The Rowdy One” once ruled the UFC world as the undefeated bantamweight champion of the world. That all ended after Rousey suffered back-to-back losses to both Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes in the UFC. They were the first defeats of her MMA career.

Despite suffering her first two and only loses in MMA to Holm and Nunes, Rousey’s biggest rival in MMA was always Cris Cyborg. Cyborg was, and remains, on a long undefeated streak during Rousey’s heyday. There were several attempts to get the pair to fight but nothing was ever finalized due to weight concerns. Now that Rousey is seemingly out of the UFC fold, Cyborg has since found her way to the promotion and holds the featherweight title.

Cyborg has exchanged words with WWE stars such as Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss on Twitter since Rousey’s debut. Recently speaking with MMA Fighting, Cyborg talked about possibly facing Rousey in WWE. The Brazilian understands the show is scripted and says she, unlike Rousey, doesn’t let her ego get the best of her and is willing to lose to her longtime rival in a WWE match:

“I think Ronda’s biggest fear was losing to me, so if we were to do it in WWE she would have to win,” Cyborg said. “I don’t have such a big ego, but if we were to put on a show for the fans, something like that, no problem. But I don’t see myself in it now.

“She would only accept it that way […] I believe she would only do it that way. No problem. I know what would happen in a real fight.”
