Roxanne Perez Addresses Rumors About Her And Dominik Mysterio

In an exclusive interview with Emily Mae of WrestlingNews.co (scroll down to watch), WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Roxanne Perez had a lot of great things to say about her new role in The Judgment Day. The former NXT Women’s Champion called the move the “best thing” for her career and, alongside her partner Raquel Rodriguez, expressed supreme confidence heading into their title defense at SummerSlam.

A Career-Changing Alliance

Perez was asked how joining the dominant faction has changed her life. “Oh, my God. I feel like being a part of the Judgment Day has been the best thing for my career, honestly,” she stated. “And who wouldn’t want to be a part of the Judgment Day, the most dominant faction in WWE history, you know? So I’m excited. I’m excited to be a champ, and I’m excited to bring all the gold back home on Monday night Raw.”

A United Front

When asked about their ideal summer party, Rodriguez suggested a boat party and was immediately asked who would be invited. “Oh, Judgment Day. Obviously,” Rodriguez answered without hesitation. “Definitely invite all of Judgment Day.” When Perez added that they don’t really like anyone else, Rodriguez seemed to agree, solidifying their united front with the faction.

Addressing Dominik Mysterio Rumors

With her entry into The Judgment Day, questions have swirled about Roxanne’s relationship with “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. When asked by Emily Mae what was going on between them, Perez was deflective. “What do you mean? What’s going on with me and Dominik? What are you talking about? We’re just friends,” she replied.

Dismissing Their Opponents

Perez carried her new assertive attitude into her assessment of their SummerSlam opponents, multi-time world champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. “Charlotte flair is a six time Tag Team Champion. She may be a 15, 16 time world champion, whatever, but she’s never had experience with this,” Perez said. She added, “Both of those girls, they’re used to working alone, and I think we bring a little something different with that when it comes to experience of working in a team.”

Two Texas Girls on the Big Stage

Despite her new edge, Perez also acknowledged the significance of the moment for both her and her partner. “This being both our first SummerSlam, it’s very exciting,” she said, speaking for both champions. “We’re excited to be not only being a part of our first SummerSlam, but defending at our first SummerSlam, and just two border town girls from South Texas that are up here on the big stage doing big things.”

Fans can see the new-attitude Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam, streaming live this Saturday, August 2. The event airs exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network everywhere else.
