Rumor killer on Brock Lesnar’s status with WWE

A few rumors have been circulating online this week on Brock Lesnar’s status with WWE. The truth is that there are no issues between Lesnar and WWE and, as reported by PWInsider, the door is open for him to return. That was pretty clear on Raw when they talked about Lesnar wanting to invoke his rematch clause for the Universal Championship. The belief is that he won’t be back until after his fight with Daniel Cormier in 2019. The timing works out well for him because he could be back in time for WrestleMania.

Despite what has been claimed online, Lesnar was not scheduled to be at Raw and we first reported here on WrestlingNews.co that he flew back home on Monday morning (or late Sunday night if you want to put it that way), a couple of hours after the pay-per-view went off the air. At one point he was scheduled to be at Raw because he was advertised locally by the Barclays Center but those plans changed before SummerSlam. As we reported here on WrestlingNews.co, Vince McMahon’s feeling on false advertising is to give fans a suitable replacement and he felt that fans got something better with the return of The Shield.

There was another rumor making the rounds on the finish of the main event at SummerSlam. The Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar went as planned and the idea was that the tease of a cash-in from Braun Strowman would keep the crowd from turning on Lesnar and Reigns and it seemed to work.

Another rumor was that Triple H’s promo was a replacement segment for whatever was scripted for Lesnar. That is also false and the Triple H segment was always planned and the reason why they’ve started hyping the Super Show-Down event is that it’s a sold show and WWE is going to do everything to help the local promoter sell tickets for the Melbourne Cricket Ground. WWE is saying that 80,000 fans will be there so they will have to give fans a loaded line-up and do a lot of promotion if they hope to achieve that goal.
