There is a story making the rounds online about Goldberg making changes to his match finishes.
One story is that Goldberg was supposed to lose to Bray Wyatt at Super ShowDown in February but the finish got changed because kids saw him as a superhero.
Another story claimed that Goldberg was supposed to beat Braun Strowman at WrestleMania and then go on to lose to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam but things were changed because Goldberg opted not to renew his contract with WWE.
Dave Meltzer shot down these stories on the Wrestling Observer form. “Story is untrue,” Meltzer said. He added, “I explained that exactly as it happened when it happened. So totally untrue.”
So, any stories of Goldberg being done with WWE are false. As previously noted, the idea with Goldberg is for him to only appear a few times per year in a legends role similar to Bruno Sammartino during his last few active years with the WWF in the early 80s.
