Rumor killer on the Kevin Owens-WWE talent bus story

There is some false information going around online since it was reported on Wednesday that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were sent home from the European tour. On the Wrestling Observer Forum, there is a thread on this story and Dave Meltzer confirmed that Zayn and Owens were sent home for disciplinary reasons but some of what has been reported is false.

Specifically, he shot down the story that was reported by PWInsider about Owens “complaining loudly” on the WWE talent bus.

Meltzer wrote:

“There’s a lot of untrue info.

For one, the story of Owens being mad on the tour bus after the tapings isn’t accurate. He was not even on the bus after the tapings.

The finish of the match was exactly as it was supposed to be. The post-match is a story that is being told different ways depending on how you hear it but that is the point of contention.

But that is the thing, any other stories are not accurate as it pertains to them being sent home.

None of this has to do with Neville, Jimmy Jacobs, etc.”

So, just to recap…yes, they were sent home and there seems to be truth to the story about something not going as planned after the Zayn vs. Kofi Kingston match but different people in the company have different takes on what went down. The talent bus story is false because Owens was not on the bus after the tapings, which makes sense if he was sent home. There would be no reason for Owens or Zayn to be on the talent bus after Smackdown unless they were headed to the next city for the next show.

It’s not clear if they will be off TV for an extended period of time or if they will be back as soon as Tuesday night on Smackdown Live. That would be up to Vince McMahon. They are currently not listed on the Survivor Series card so it’s possible that we might not see them on TV until after the pay-per-view.
