Over the last few days, there have been rumors popping up on the status of Primo and Epico Colon. Rumors began popping up after merchandise for Orlando Colon (Epico’s real name) popped up on Pro Wrestling Tees. Contracted WWE Superstar merchandise is generally sold through WWE.com so the Pro Wrestling Tees listing has raised eyebrows. The rumors picked up steam on Friday after the WWC promotion (owned by the Colon family) retweeted the story from Super Luchas. However, according to a reliable source, the stories floating around regarding Primo and Epico are false and they have not asked for their release. As of this writing, they are still with the company.
Primo (real name Eddie Colon) is the son of Carlos Colon and brother of former WWE Superstar Carlito. He was signed to FCW, WWE’s developmental system, in 2008 and made his main roster debut as Primo Colon in August 2008. He was later paired with cousin Epico (real name Orlando Colon) in 2011. They never got any real traction although there were several attempts made to repackage them. In 2013, they were repackaged as masked bullfighter characters called Los Matadores. In 2016, they were repackaged as The Shining Stars with their gimmick being that they were Puerto Rican travel guides. That did not work out and this year they dropped the travel gimmick and were officially renamed The Colons.
Primo and Epico wrestled on live events last weekend and we have confirmed that they are booked for shows this weekend.
