Rumor killer on Vince McMahon-Madison Square Garden meeting

There was a rumor making the rounds in the last week or so about WWE supposedly wanting to shut down the ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard show in Madison Square Garden. The story that made the rounds was that Vince McMahon was going to meet with MSG executives. The rumor seemed ridiculous because tickets have been sold for that show and a contract has been signed for that building.

PWInsider was able to get a confirmation from a high-up source at MSG and it was confirmed that there was no meeting with Vince McMahon and no meetings were scheduled at all. Furthermore, all dealings with the venue are done through the WWE live events department.

At this point, even if WWE tried, it would be impossible for them to get kick ROH and New Japan Pro Wrestling out of the building so there is zero truth to the story.

The only thing that WWE can try to do is sign away some of the wrestlers that will become free agents in a few months.
