Rumored WWE Crown Jewel Opponent for Roman Reigns Ruled Out

Fans hoping to see a recent rumored match for John Cena at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia will be disappointed.

The former WWE Champion is advertised for the show before he teams with LA Knight to take on Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso this Saturday at Fastlane. Next Tuesday, Cena is going to NXT to be in the corner of Carmelo Hayes when he takes on Bron Breakker, who will have The Bloodline’s Paul Heyman in his corner.

Based on television, Dave Meltzer speculated that it looked like WWE is building towards Cena vs. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the Crown Jewel PLE next month.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Cena vs. Reigns is not the planned match.

Meltzer wrote, “Although the promos where the Bloodline and Heyman talk of Cena as “the second greatest wrestler of all-time,” with the idea Reigns is the greatest and a play off Cena’s WWE tag line of being the greatest, and Cena also at this point scheduled for Crown Jewel, it was confirmed to us that Reigns vs. Cena is not the match planned for the show.”
