A campaign committee has formally filed a draft on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s behalf for the 2020 Presidential election.
The Hill reports that the form was filed by Kenton Tilford using an address in West Virginia. It’s not known if Tilford has any connection to Johnson and it’s not clear if Johnson even made aware of the filing.
Johnson has been dropping hints that he could run in 2020. In May, he told GQ Magazine that he would like to see better leadership in the White House and that he would like to see more “poise” in the Oval Office. Johnson is registered as an independent and has spoken at both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention in 2000 as part of the then-WWF’s Smackdown Your Vote initiative in an effort to get more young people to the voting booths.
If you would have asked me a year ago if I thought that The Rock could run for President of the United States, I would have scoffed at the idea but, as Donald Trump has shown, anything is possible and I would not rule it out.
