There is a brief news item about the salary for some of the top talent in WWE and this might explain why the company insists on cutting so much talent and keeping the overall talent salary to a certain level.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the wrestlers at the very top of the card are making above $5 million per year on their guaranteed deal. Those names would include Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
Meltzer stated that there is another person who is around $4 million and a lot of top talent is at $2 million and some at $3 million.
Those are the numbers for guaranteed contracts and merchandise sales are not factored in so some of those names are making even more than the numbers listed above.
Reigns may be in a position to earn even more in the near future because he has hinted that he is ready to make the move to making movies in Hollywood. WWE would likely offer him significant money to stay or at least wrestle on a part-time basis like John Cena did before he eventually left for full-time Hollywood. There is no word on when his contract expires.
