Sami Zayn is looking to make a positive out of a negative while being sidelined due to double shoulder surgery.
The WWE RAW star was last seen when he suffered a loss to Bobby Lashley at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena earlier this year that aired on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network. Zayn recently took to his official Twitter account where he stated that he thinks this time off was a gift as it allowed him to reflect.
He wrote, “Double shoulder surgery isn’t fun, but I see the whole experience as a gift. Time off wrestling gave me perspective, about myself and the world around me. Honest introspection/critical reflection is SO valuable, and it costs nothing.
To heal the world, we must heal ourselves.”

This had been something that was planned out in advance as Zayn had been working through an injury and expected to take time off from the road back in June. Once he wrapped up this feud with Lashley, Zayn underwent shoulder surgery to fix a torn rotator cuff be and would out of action through the end of 2018.
The original belief was that he should be back in time for WrestleMania 35 next year. However, that timetable has been pushed back even further due to him having to undergo surgery yet again. In a time where WWE needs all of the stars that they can get, once Zayn returns, not only will the company be glad to see him but fans as well.
