2023 has been a successful year for Sami Zayn as he started off the year still as a member of The Bloodline before wrestling Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of the Elimination Chamber PLE in February in his hometown, then won the Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39.
Things change
It was originally believed WWE would be without Zayn for the rest of December and the start of 2024. However, that was not the case, as plans changed after WWE did an injury spot in Zayn’s match with Drew McIntyre on a recent episode of Monday Night Raw.
The company said Zayn was “injured” with a “partially torn meniscus,” with no timeframe given for his return. Zayn reportedly asked for time off, and WWE granted it. He returned for the post-Christmas tour.
Making a memory
WWE held a house show on Friday from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he defeated Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Finn Balor in a Last Man Standing match. At one point, Dominik Mysterio tried to interfere but was put through a table.
As seen below, Zayn did a cool thing for fans who waited to see him after the show as he met them in the parking garage to thank them for their support.
Sami Zayn took a moment to greet every fan who waited to see him after the show.
