Sami Zayn Is Off WWE TV ‘Indefinitely’

Sami Zayn is facing an indefinite hiatus from in-ring competition after suffering re-aggravated injuries during his intensely physical match against Kevin Owens at WWE Elimination Chamber. The announcement, delivered by commentator Michael Cole, confirmed that Zayn re-injured his neck, nerves, and spine during the unsanctioned bout against his former friend turned bitter rival.

Cole detailed that the injuries are a result of Zayn’s brutal encounter with Owens, which saw the two competitors brawl throughout the arena and utilize a variety of weapons, including a barbed wire chair. The high-impact match also featured Owens delivering multiple powerbombs to Zayn onto the unforgiving ring apron, ultimately leading to Owens securing the victory.

The current issues reportedly stem from an initial injury sustained on the February 3rd edition of WWE Raw. During that broadcast, Owens inflicted a package piledriver on Zayn, setting the stage for the escalating animosity and culminating in the punishing Elimination Chamber match.

The duration of his absence remain unclear but, as most of you figured, this is likely a storyline absence and with 7 weeks until WrestleMania, there’s a lot of time to get Sami figured into the show.
