Sami Zayn has been around WWE since 2013, where he has found a lot of success starting in NXT, where he held the NXT Title.
Since making it to the main roster, Zayn has continued that success as a former Intercontinental Champion and currently the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions with Kevin Owens.
Zayn was part of the NXT roster in the early days of the brand, where it established itself as the best brand in WWE for several years.
Today is the 10th anniversary of Zayn and Cesaro’s two out of three falls match in WWE NXT. He thinks the match changed the wrestling business and took to Twitter to share his take by writing the following:
“At this risk of sounding dramatic or arrogant, this one match changed the industry. This was the day NXT became ‘a thing.’ Hard to explain the significance/context/landscape at that time, but suffice to say it’s one of my proudest matches, with one of my all-time best opponents.”
