Welcome back, Sami Zayn.
Zayn has been out of action for over 10 months after undergoing double shoulder surgery for two torn rotator cuffs. He made his return this week on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania in Brooklyn.
Zayn said his schedule was open so he wanted anyone to come out to wrestle him. The challenge was accepted by Finn Balor. Unfortunately, Zayn lost after Balor delivered the coup de grace double stomp off the top. Zayn grabbed the microphone and said the loss reinforced what he’s realized during the last nine months. He said, “it genuinely seems like you miss me. I can honestly say, from the bottom of my heart, I honestly did not miss any of this or any one of you.”
Zayn added, “Yea, so it turns out WWE is a super toxic environment.” He said it’s toxic because of the fans and their ugliness. Zayn said the fans in Brooklyn have empty lives and the only joy they get is by being critics. Zayn said they judge everyone except themselves and it’s because “none of you have the balls to look inside yourself because you know the ugliness and cynicism that exists inside and you are so bloody delusional.”
Zayn said the right thing to do is to hold the fans accountable. He ended by saying, “see you in hell.”
