Samoa Joe on where his WWE Title match with AJ Styles at SummerSlam ranks in his career

Samoa Joe will receive another shot at capturing WWE World Championship gold at SummerSlam.

The former NXT World Champion is set to do battle with AJ Styles at SummerSlam later this month for “The Phenomenal One’s” WWE Title. Joe has previously challenged for the Universal Title on Monday Night Raw. He had a spectacular feud with Brock Lesnar before falling to “The Beast” at the Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view (PPV) last year. While some might think that would top Joe’s list in regards to rankings in his professional wrestling career, that doesn’t quite seem to be the case.

Joe recently spoke to Sky Sports about his SummerSlam bout with Styles. He said he doesn’t feel pressure heading into the match against his former TNA rival, but notes it’s the biggest of his professional wrestling career:

“Sure, yes, of course, I’m fighting for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam,” Joe said. “It’s a great opportunity for me. I’ve been in big matches before but it’s been with four other goons, but this is one-on-one and we’ll find out what’s what. … There’s no pressure whatsoever but only because I understand the capabilities of the people involved. I mean, I’m looking forward to it.”
