Former WWE Divas Champion Saraya has opened up about a violating experience she endured during a recent autograph signing in Chicago. Speaking on the Rulebreakers podcast, she detailed how a fan crossed the line and criticized the lack of immediate action from event security.
The Incident in Chicago
Saraya revealed that while she was at the signing, a fan slapped her buttocks three times. She expressed her anger not only at the fan’s behavior but also at the security team’s failure to intervene in the moment.
“I will say this lately, I feel like there’s been like an influx of certain fans feeling way too comfortable to be grabbing on females. Just this past weekend in Chicago, a fan decided he wanted to slap my ass three times in a row because he thought it was funny. And the security didn’t do a f****** thing,” Saraya said.
A Recurring Issue
She noted that security eventually offered to escort the individual out, but only after the interaction was nearly over. Saraya was eventually given a personal security guard for the remainder of the event, but she emphasized that this is part of a troubling pattern.
“They ended up coming up to me afterwards and were like, ‘Do you want us to escort him out?’… but it was already nearly done, you know? It was just like—it’s too late in the day,” she explained. “This is the second time this year that a fan has touched me, tried to kiss me, and tried to slap my a**. It’s just way too comfortable.”
Broader Problem in Wrestling
Saraya highlighted that she is not alone in facing these issues. She referenced similar incidents involving other superstars, including Rhea Ripley, Kevin Owens, and Asuka, who have all had to deal with fans ignoring personal boundaries in recent months. In Asuka’s case, the situation escalated to the point where law enforcement had to be involved.
