Despite reports earlier this week that stated that Sasha Banks was cleared for in-ring action, PWInsider is reporting that Banks is not backstage in Phoenix, Arizona for WWE Friday Night SmackDown. PWI adds that the word going around backstage is that she may have been pulled from SummerSlam.
Banks and Bianca Belair were pulled from last week’s live events due to “unforeseen circumstances” but the company continued to promote their SummerSlam match during commercials on Raw on Monday.
PWInsider says that while Banks is not at the show, Belair is backstage. If WWE has to find a replacement for Banks, they do have a big name available.
As previously noted, Becky Lynch is slated to be backstage for SummerSlam weekend. Lynch has been backstage at shows in recent weeks and based on some recent photos of her training, she looks to be ready to get in the ring as soon as WWE is ready to use her.
We should know more tonight on SmackDown about plans for Belair.
