Sasha Banks had more than one reason to be unhappy with WWE, aside from the late title change at WrestleMania 35.
On Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Banks was not only unhappy about dropping the Women’s Tag Team Titles but she was also unhappy about being split away from Bayley as a tag team.
“It was not only that they were losing the championships that they found out on Sunday,” Meltzer said. He added, “they were told that they were splitting the team.”
It’s not clear what the future holds for Sasha Banks in WWE but she has been given time off by the company and they hope to have her back. She is scheduled for next month’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view but that does not necessarily mean she will appear if things are not worked out by that time. Banks privately tried to quit the company during WrestleMania weekend.
What is clear is that, if she returns, she will be a singles wrestler on the Raw brand and Lacey Evans is being positioned as a top female heel and the next challenger for Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Championship, so a big singles push for Banks seems unlikely at this point unless they decide to have Banks win the Women’s Money In The Bank match.
Banks sent out a tweet on Monday that included WWE-related hashtags. The tweet seemed to indicate that things might have been smoothed over with WWE but that tweet has been deleted.
